Through a transdisciplinary practice at the intersection of film, photography, sound and installation, Kitoko Diva is a French artist exploring interactions of identity and race social structure with surrealism, technoculture, dream-like symbolism and cyberspaces utopies. Kitoko Diva mostly address afrodiasporic experiences among black europeans and afro-american southern communities by building alternatives landscapes and substitutes realities with new experimental forms of documentary practices blurring the line between fiction, facts and poetry.

Kitoko Diva studied Theatre Performance before exploring video art and experimental filmmaking. After graduating with a BFA in Art History and Archeology, Diva further developed her research and practice in video installation, sound design and deejaying to create three-dimensional audiovisual live performances harmonizing images with sounds, voices and music. Her works have been recently screened at the Tate Modern for Southwark Untold Pempeople and was selected for the 70th edition of Jeune Création’s performance program. Kitoko Diva also hosts an experimental one hour long format show on NTS Radio, presenting archives, music production and audio essay pieces on black bodies tales and cosmology imagery.

Born in France, Diva has lived in the United States and Belgium before settling down in the United Kingdom.
