Biography
DIVA is a French multimedia artist, film director, and cinematographer whose work delves into the intersection of identity, race, and social structures through the lenses of surrealism and technoculture. Her artistic practice centers on the spatialization of moving images, often presented in large-scale installations and immersive environments that evoke cyberspace utopias and dream-like symbolism.
Exploring the interplay of fiction, reality, and documentary, DIVA crafts experimental narratives that border on magical realism, navigating concepts of time, space, and memory with poetic visuals and deliberate pacing. Her attention to composition and mise-en-scène amplifies her ability to deconstruct and reimagine contemporary socio-political realities, with a particular focus on immigrant and diasporic experiences.
By merging the tangible and the digital, DIVA invites audiences to reflect deeply on the structures shaping their identities and histories while envisioning transformative possibilities within alternate realities.
A Fulbright scholar, student Emmy Award winner, and Howard MFA Film candidate, DIVA's works have been recently showcased at the Centre Georges Pompidou, the Guggenheim Museum for the exhibition "Sometimes it’s Beautiful," and the Tate Modern in London for "Southwark Untold Pempeople."
